Linn Bathroom Oil is really the only oil finish we would recommend on timber furniture in a bathroom. It contains a high degree of natural tree resins that form a high gloss finish, similar to a varnish. This helps to protect against water and soaps that are typically found in a bathroom.
Suitable: as a finish on timber vanities and furniture in bathrooms.
Appearance: a high gloss rich oil finish.
Colours: clear oil which will bring out the richness of the timber .
Odour: is a mild linseed smell when applying and for a little while afterwards. No ongoing odour when dry.
VOC : initially when applying has some VOC's, but no ongoing VOC emissions when dry. See further information on the
type of VOC in LIVOS Oils.
Durability: is good. However it is advised not to leave water or soaps sitting on the surface overnight. All spills should be wiped up as soon as possible.
Preparation: must be applied to new, clean wood. However it can be applied over Ardvos or Kunos as a final protective coat.
Application: apply in temperatures above 16 degrees C. Apply 3 coats with a brush. Allow each coat to penetrate for 5 -10 mins, then polish in the excess with a lint free cloth, such that a smooth polished layer is formed. Allow a day for each coat to dry, then sand with 320 grit before applying the next layer.
If applying over Ardvos or Kunos sand these first with 180 grit. Clean up brushes with
Svalos Thinners.
Drying: Allow 24hrs drying time between coats. Full cure is reached after 4 weeks so be gentle on it during this time.
Coverage: Covers approximately 12m2/L for all 3 coats.
Coats: three
