LIVOS Kunos Countertop Oil is certified Food Safe and has been designed to withstand greater heat (up to 50 degrees centigrade) and moisture, making it a great choice for timber counters, tables and benchtops.

Suitable: for use on tables and bench tops. Due to a high natural resin content it can withstand greater heat and moisture than regular oils.
Appearance: is a rich enhancement of the timber colour and grain. It can be buffed between coats to give a high shine.
Colours: clear only.
Odour: is a linseed smell when applying and for a little while afterwards. When dry no ongoing odour.
VOC: initially when applying has high VOC, but no ongoing VOC emissions when dry. See further information on the type of VOC in LIVOS oils
Durability: is good. However similar to most timber finishes it is advisable to wipe up spills as soon as possible. Scratches can be repaired by lightly sanding and re-oiling. Stains can be cleaned with LIVOS Trena pH Neutral Cleaner
Vapour Permeability: is good. Allows the wood to breathe.
Preparation: must be applied to new, clean, sanded wood.  
Application: apply in temperatures above 12 degrees C. Apply with a lint free cloth, or polishing pad on an orbital sander. Allow to penetrate for 10 - 15 mins then wipe off excess till touch dry. Allow to harden over night and repeat for second coat and third coats. Buff when applying, or between coats, to give an extra smooth shiny result. See full Furniture Application Instructions
Drying: 6 - 12 hours first coat. Subsequent coats allow 24 hours drying before re-coating.
Coverage: 1L will do 3 coats on approximately 20sqM. If used as a top coat only 1L will cover approximately 100sqM.
Coats: a minimum of 3 coats is suggested on counter tops. More thin coats can be applied to build higher surface sheen.
