Oxides are powdered pigments made from iron oxide that are used for colouring the ROCKCOTE Clay and Lime plasters that come dry (bag) form .
Recommended for use in:
Colours : ROCKCOTE has developed a range of colours seen on the left, using the oxides in these products. The colours will appear slightly different on a computer screen to real life, and in fact will be slightly different in each product, so it is best to use these images as a guide only.
The table below gives the oxide name and proportion to get these colours. However the colours are suggestions only. They can be used as is, or as a guide to develop your own colours.
NOTE 1: When tinting product the maximum oxide which should be added is 40g per kilogram of product. If a higher proportion of oxides is added it will change the composition of the product and affect the finish. NOTE 2 : As these renders and oxides are natural products there can be slight colour variations so it is advisable to use products and oxides from a similar batch to achieve colour consistency for a project.
Procedure for use : the steps below are recommended to reduce the likelihood of oxide bursts occurring in the finish
Size and Appearance : these are 1Kg bags of finely powdered dry oxide. You will require your own scales to weight them for a project.
